#VundaHalloweenAthon Day 21: "Fear the Floof"
Welcome to Day 21 of our #VundaHalloweenAthon
The 21st theme of the month is "Fear the Floof." Today is a day for all manner of creepy crawlies and terrifying animals and creatures--especially those of the mammalian persuasion. Werewolves are definitely a go-to but by all means be creative!
It might be an oldie you just never got around to seeing or something from a fresh young filmmaker who you haven't given a chance yet. The sky is the limit and bonus Pumpkin Points if you watch more than one movie a day on theme!
Here are a few recommendations from the team, taken from our own watchlists for today...
Group Pick: Critters (1986) directed by Stephen Herek is available on HBO Max. It may have started as a Gremlins rip off but it has actually spawned more sequels than Gremlins, so that must mean quality right???
D-Rock:
-Curse of the Queerwolf (1988) directed by Mark Pirro - 1h 30m - Tubi
-Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) directed by James Nguyen - 1h 30m - Tubi
-Ginger Snaps (2000) directed by John Fawcett - 1h 45m (2h 30m w/ Joe Bob Briggs commentary) - Shudder, Tubi
-Ghoulies (1985) directed by Luca Bercovici - 1h 20m - HBO Max
Stephen & Dani:
-An American Werewolf in London (1981) directed by John Landis - 1h 37m - Peacock
-Cursed (2004) directed by Wes Craven - 1h 37m - HBO Max
-Teen Wolf (1985) directed by Rod Daniel - 1h 32m - Free on Youtube baby!
-The Wolfman (2010) directed by Joe Johnston - 2h 5m - Peacock

Our official #VundaHalloweenAthon art was done by Josh Stifter who is not only an artist but a filmmaker. If you subscribe to his Flush Studios Patreon you can access great behind the scenes content. He has two feature length films: The Good Exorcist is a comedic horror film made for $7000 under the supervision of Robert Rodriguez available on TromaNOW (perfect for "Spooky & Spiritual" day) or ask Josh about Greywood's Plot a film about friendship and cryptids, which is touring the world at film festivals. Josh also has tons of great horror shorts we might be recommending later in the month.
